The elimination of the federal EV tax credit at the end of September saw customers rushing to buy EVs before the end of the third quarter, and many models saw notable increases. Still, Tesla continues to dominate as other automakers try to catch up. With the first nine months of 2025 complete, we scoured the data and created a list of the 10 bestselling EVs of 2025 so far.
A couple of notes before we begin: some automakers don’t break out sales numbers for every model in their lineup or for electric versions of nameplates also sold with gas powertrains. The main culprit is Tesla, which doesn’t break out sales numbers for individual models. In these cases, we use estimates reported by Automotive News to get an idea of where popular EV models land.
